🌟 Attendance rewards this half term 🌟
Thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support in helping our school community maintain such amazing attendance this academic year.
Every day in school gives students the opportunity to learn, take part and thrive.
This half term, we have a range of rewards linked to attendance, including weekly draws, crew and year-group rewards, the Rewards Shop, a lunch with leaders and surprise spot prizes. Take a look at the poster for the full range.
As the weather gets colder and wetter, we won’t be holding PE kit days as an attendance reward this half term. There are still plenty of other ways for students’ attendance and improvement to be recognised and celebrated.

Ibstock School will be joining together with St Denys Church to honour Remembrance on Wednesday 11th November 2026.
Students will be leaving Ibstock School for 12.00 service start.
OUR Student Council 2026-27 Elections are underway!
Students in each CREW have nominated themselves to be Student Council representatives this year. Each CREW will have 2 reps. Today, our voting process begins!
Students arrived at Polling Stations around the school to cast their votes.
We`re so excited to see who is elected and see OUR Student Council thrive as students take on responsibilities in a variety of committees!

🔍🧪 WHO KILLED MR TURNER!?!🔬
It’s been a fantastic morning welcoming some of the high-achieving students from our local feeder primary schools! 🎉
Year 6 Students from Ibstock Junior School, Ellistown, Woodstone, Heather, Hugglescote, Dove Bank and Newton Burgoland were all invited to join us for an exciting forensic science crime-scene investigation! 🕵️♀️🕵️♂️
Working together in teams, our forensic scientists:
🔬 Used microscopes to investigate trace evidence
🧪 Carried out indicator tests to identify unknown substances
🖊️ Used paper chromatography to compare ink samples from different suspects
🧠 Put their scientific enquiry, problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test!
It was fantastic to see students thinking like real scientists, analysing the evidence and working together to uncover the fictional culprit! 👏
Activities like this provide a brilliant opportunity to explore science through hands-on learning and give students a taste of what learning in a secondary school environment is all about. 🌟
A huge thank you to all the primary schools who joined us for such an exciting morning! 💙

🌟 Celebrating Our Young Carers at Ibstock School! 🌟
Today we held a fantastic event dedicated to supporting our amazing Young Carers.
Our students took part in baseline feedback forms, enjoyed some well-deserved refreshments, played games, and networked with one another. We were also delighted to welcome Susan Hilton (Senior Young Carer Lead at Children & Family Services) and Ellie Smith (Youth Worker & Young Carer Group Lead), who shared invaluable information and guidance with our students.
Mrs Goddard also spoke to the students about representing Young Carers in the school council.
At Ibstock School, we are immensely proud of all OUR Young Carers and the incredible resilience, care, and kindness they show every single day.

Our final @amazonuk trip took place today, and what a fantastic experience it`s been for our Year 9 students!
From seeing world-class operations in action to gaining real insight into careers in logistics and supply chains, it`s been an eye-opening experience. 🚚
Huge well done to all our students for being brilliant representatives of Ibstock School.
