In Media Studies at Ibstock Community College, our intent is to: give students the tools to be able to critically engage with a broad range of media products and to analyse how media language is constructed in different media forms; promote creativity and encourage a love of creating media products using audio-visual and print-based productions; link students’ learning to the world around them by developing their understanding of historical, social, cultural, economic and political contextual knowledge; develop professional and transferrable skills that will enable them to use both within and outside the media industry.
